Roles

Permissions in UW CORAL are defined in terms of capabilities, which are generally permissions to do a specific task or view or change a specific class of data. Each of UW CORAL's roles is associated with a number of capabilities. The Roles tab allows lab management to view and edit these role⇔capability relationships.

The sub-tabs of this tab represent each type of role, and the rows on the table in each tab show all the individual capabilities that might accrue to users with this type of role. For example, account roles only grant account capabilities; but lab roles grant capabilities on equipment and locations within the lab as well as the lab itself.
